Vibrant busy city with lots of interesting things to see and do. Name a brand and you can find it in the stores although it may be a bit on the pricey side. Excellent port of entry to visit lots of Costa Rican gems! Whether you are looking for adventure or chill beach vibes, this is the place with lots of access to tours from the city. And the city itself has a very robust historical, art and cultural experiences. Would recommend. Predominantly Spanish speaking, but lots of nationals will speak some English! San Jose is a patchwork of beautiful sites amidst a chaotic mess of traffic-riddled highways. We didn't really stay long enough to give it an accurate review, but our short stay was not encouraging. In general the city hasn't much to it - the best part is getting out on tours to see some nature! Traffic is also terrible at peak times, sometimes tripling the time is takes to get somewhere. The room is very clean, the shared kitchen was very clean. The man who welcomed me was very helpful and polite. The bar café close is very nice too . I recommend to go there to have a drink or to have lunch and dinner. I recommend to take the transportation of the hotel from the airport...it is less expensive than official taxi.
