A post-industrial city with many nice spots mixed with some that are not too attractive. I would say it's the best what former DDR (East Germany) had to offer: very open, modernist city centre with a lot of green areas and good public transport with the worst: boring and ugly Plattenbau. Many refurbished XIX-century industrial buildings and interesting museums are a huge plus too (honorary first place goes to Museum Gunzenhauser). We have arrived in the evening and the first impression was not so great, the only site we have seen was a big factory with huge chimneys. Later, once we checked in and went for a walk, we discovered nice pedestrian area next to the hotel. It was quite and clean. A lot of parks, a lot of room between blocks, wide pedestrians, in the evening music everywhere. Fantastic feeling on the Wine Festival, nice. And friendly people in the city. Lots of bars in Innere Klosterstraße. There was beer festival during my visit. It was so crowded (in a good way). Karl-Marx monument (nischel) is marvelous. You see different residental buildings compared to west Germany. 3 days are enough to explore the city.Guest review byArtunçTurkey - 6.0
Transport was poor.
Transport was poor. Trains going to Chemnitz are from Democratic Republic of Germany, i am not joking .. First Class Coach was like Bangladesh trains quality. City is better then expected, but nothing touristic. I eat Chinese food. It was good.Guest review byM.CenkTurkey

The place is modern, newly renovated, and offers spacious rooms with everything you might need. The kitchen is fully equipped, which made it easy to prepare meals during our stay. Having two bathrooms was a big plus, especially in the mornings. The central location in Chemnitz made it easy to explore the city on foot, and the private parking right outside the building was very convenient.
