Traveling by car with my dog, I stayed 2 nights in Metten.
Traveling by car with my dog, I stayed 2 nights in Metten. This gave me time for a tour of the famous baroque Benedictine Library. Afterwards, I had time to visit the beach bar on the river Danube in Deggendorf and walk through the old city center there. Found and highly recommend Bachmueller Bakery for wonderful breakfast options as well as soups, goulash, pasta dishes. There are many nice eateries of all sorts in the center pedestrian zone of Deggendorf. Metten has Italian, Greek, German, and its unique Brazilian BBQ restaurant.
