The hotel was better than I expected.
The hotel was better than I expected. It's a great location, walking distance to town, and has nearby restaurants. The staff are very friendly, speak excellent English, and they even folded clothes left out when they cleaned the room. Parking is on the side, so drive right in and turn right. Downstairs are two living rooms, one with a bar. Drinks are inexpensive, and they would pour until you said when. Quirky hotel made from stone but in a good location although it was a little hard to find since it was tucked away behind other buildings. Visiting in mid September some of the restaurants were closed and frankly the food was of lesser standard than elsewhere in northern spain. We loved Cudillero.
We loved Cudillero. We only had 3 nights but that was not enough. We could easily have stayed for a week as there was so much to do. We explored the village by foot, we ate in many of the wonderful seafood restaurants (Recommend El Remo and Isabel), we bought groceries and shopped and we drove to several nearby Sandy beaches. We went for a drive to the valley of the bears which was very picturesque. However there are also many lovely cities close by that we ran out of time to visit like Oviedo. 54 steps from street level to 2nd floor room.
54 steps from street level to 2nd floor room. I am 84 and my wife is 76; she has a mobility problem. No mention was made of the steep climb. I should have asked, maybe, but we do not normally have problems with a reasonable number of stairs. Car parking. A public park 12 minutes walk away is unacceptable. The bathroom was very small. The curtains were could not beheld back because of the 45° slope. So the windows couldn’t be opened. It was over 30° when were there. The curtains had to be close at night as there was a huge public street lamp right outside the bedroom. It was on all night. Cudillero is a delightful little town with a gorgeous...
Cudillero is a delightful little town with a gorgeous fishing harbor, tourists on summer weekends, a couple of pleasant walks (one with an amazing view of the harbor and the ocean), a few restaurants, and a very pretty 2-star hotel named La Casona de Pio. We enjoyed fresh fish at the Casa de Julio. We also had an excellent lunch at El Cafe del Faro, right next to our hotel.Guest review byRogerUnited States

Apartment is a 15-20min walk into the town of Cudillero (all downhill). There is a taxi rank in Cudillero and only 5euro ride back to apartment. Cudillero town was disapointing as most restaurants and bars were closed (we were there in mid Oct which is out of season). There was a superb locals' restaurant 200m from the apartment (opposite diection from Cudillero town) which we thoroughly enjoyed. Very modern, stylish and probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The real stand out was the 2 ladies who run the place, outstanding service, so genuinely helpful, made us feel at home.
