When I requested a vegetarian meal, they produced a delicious salad plate with fried eggs and a quinoa burger. It was truly excellent. They also made a wonderful cheese omelette for my breakfast. Some of the best food I had on the entire Camino Frances.

When you are walking Camino Frances it is normally to see albuerge just for money and unusual to see albuerge for piligrims. I want to say great thank you for the owner and for the cheef - I could not remember in my Caminos so big care and so great dinner! This albergue is part of the soul Camino! Thank you! Gracias! The place was great, the room was nice and also the bathroom, plus he let us use the washing machine and we could hang our clothes on the line, they dried in about 30 minutes. Also free help yourself breakfast. Dinner was available at his restaurant which was great.

For me one of the most important things about an albergue is the host. On this occasion the host was facing a difficult personal situation beyond his control and yet this had no negative impact on the level of service or hospitality. I was so impressed with how welcome I was made at the end of a particularly long day. I was even asked if I was hungry and offered a meal at 5.30pm which I gratefully accepted!
