Great place for vacations! Everything was very clean, new sheets, clean shower. All the necessary amenities, delicious tea in the room. Free and good wifi internet. It was exceptional : the style had real “heart and soul”, not like a hotel chain oder modern cold glass. Everything was high quality refurbished or built and with attention to detail The hotel is situated on a hill and a historical landmark. Majestic ! The view. Dining up in the trees. Waking up with a lake view.

This hotel and rehabilitation centre is housed in an early 20th-century Art Nouveau building, 30 km from central Savonlinna. It offers a range of relaxation facilities and rooms with flat-screen TVs.

We stayed in several places around southern Finland, and this was the best. The location by the lake is stunning. We ate dinner at a lakeside restaurant a few miles away, run by a friend of our host. Savonlinna is a short drive away, as is the world's largest wooden church. Great base for exploring Finnish nature. Amazing breakfast, including local specialities, freshly made bread, and cooked eggs and sausages. Given that we were the only people staying that night (summer season had not started yet), this was exceptional service. The breakfast room in the farmhouse was very pretty.

We were made very welcome and the chalet conformed to the description. No bad surprises. The chalet was spacious, heated before our arrival and the fireplace allowed us to spend good times inside even though it was -25 outside. The sauna in the chalet was a real plus too. Very close to the lake, the snowshoe or Nordic ski trails, it is a perfect location which gives the feeling of being in the heart of nature while being in the immediate vicinity of a clear traffic route, which is not negligible in extreme cold. I think we will come back if the opportunity arises.
