It is a charming town on a river.
It is a charming town on a river. The old town is nice with the catherdral and the main square offering gastronomic experience with its many restaurants and cafés. The new city centre offers shopping facilities as well as restaurants and cafés. The citadelle is well worth climbing. There are wonderful forests around Belfort and fortresses to climb. There is a big lake with a park around and also a lake a bit further away, good for swimming as well. Belfort downtown is easy to walk around and visit. The surroundings offer countless and colorful possiblities of relaxing (hiking, biking, swimming, etc.). Do not miss out on it, if you are driving that way.Guest review byEstellaMHungary - 10.0

The citadelle is worth the trip alone: walking through the many passageways, all the way to the very top for a great viewpoint. Don't miss a visit to the lion! We had a great dinner at Le Pot au Feu. The old town is quaint and great to walk around.Guest review byMarieFrance
