Beziers is a beautiful city but it is very hilly.
Beziers is a beautiful city but it is very hilly. The historic city centre is at the top of the hill but the station is at the bottom so it's a steep climb with your luggage. The food market was voted the most beautiful in 2025 and is definitely worth a visit. There are several restaurants around the market and I can recommend La Johane. The food and the service were excellent. The cathedral is very imposing and, being at the top of the hill, gives a great view over the surrounding countryside. Everything was so well thought out, from the room layout to the blackout blinds to the art work. The bed was so comfortable that I am still thinking about it! I'd love to stay in the summer and use the pool and gym. It is very well-located and we walked from the hotel into and around the city all weekend. They gave us an itinerary for the day to make sure we saw the best of Beziers. The building is really interesting and unusual, central to the city, and we were able to park our car safely in a locked courtyard. The art deco style was fab. Rooms beautifully presented.
