Mind blowing beach and the view of the sun set between the mountains were super experience . Law crowed beach . The most enjoyable thing in Cerbere is the "silence " . Though there are tourists , hotels , children, birds , vehicles you can feel the nature with that silence . Even sea waves respect that . Enjoy the nature in Mysterious silence !! A small seaside village with several nice beaches and great swimming. The bay is protected from the strong winds which sometimes blow in the Mediterranean, so even though there was a lot of wind out at sea, the bay was lovely and calm with crystal clear water. There are cafes on the water front and on the village square. While I was there the summer fête was on (which made it a bit noisy at night). The coastline around there is beautiful and rugged. At presen Cerbere streets under under renovovation which made a bit difficult to find the property. However, once there we met de very cordial hosts who were bending over backward to make our stay memorable. Cerbère is the last village in France before reaching the...
Cerbère is the last village in France before reaching the Spanish border - it is the quietest of the towns on this bit of coast, but there is easy access to the (much larger and busier) towns of Banyuls-sur-Mer and Collioure, either by car or via a short train or bus ride. You really don't need to a car to visit this coastline - the train station is a couple of hundred metres from the sea front, and there is a regular service to the other towns along the coast. Highly recommended for a quiet, low carbon holiday. The beaches are amazing: the water is crystal clear and there are a lot of fish! Having the use of the fridge and microwave meant that we could eat our food on the veranda with the beautiful views across the sea.
