Beautiful medieval town with quaint streets and a lovely farmers market while we were there. The chateau is worth a visit and you get beautiful views from the ramparts and across to the country side and river. Easy to walk everywhere as we were close to town. Chinon is a beautiful old mediaeval town by a large river. Extremely attractive with narrow streets and pretty squares. Lots of bars and restaurants. Lovely clean, modern facility (more of a bed & breakfast than what I would call a hotel). The host was really helpful & attentive. We had the last available room as it was a last minute booking & our host apologised for the size of the room, but it was absolutely fine for our needs. The hotel is within walking distance of a variety of great restaurants & Chinon is a lovely historic, picturesque town. The welcome is very friendly and the rooms quiet and comfortable, the bathroom is spotlessly clean with a great shower. Comfortable bed. The hotel is in a lovely quiet area of Chinon and an easy walk to the town centre, with its plentiful restaurants. Car parking in the hotel courtyard is 8 euros.
