A charming 1900's doctors house on the edge of the village. The owners have taken a lot of care to create a welcoming and comfortable stay. Lots of attention to detail, from wonderfully decorated rooms to home made jams and yogurt at breakfast. We visited the castle where Richard Cur de Lion met his fate and had a pleasant stroll around the village,

What a beautiful place to stay in Chalus. Everything is tastefully decorated, clean , the breakfast brilliant with a wide choice. But most of all the hosts Anna and Pete: they are so friendly and helpful . I would definitely recommend staying there.

The rural location was great, and the property with it's surroundings were very nice, and very peaceful. Breakfast was enjoyable and nothing was too much trouble regarding one or two additional requests I made. Thank you madame, and I apologise, we didn't introduce ourselves properly. Laurent the host was so so welcoming and lovely. He showed us around the beautiful property and pointed out all the AMAZING nature that was around the lake over a lovely rosé. The location is exceptional and for those who love nature it is perfect as well as visiting the Dordgne region and local towns. All from the property you can enjoy watching birds of prey, herons, hear frogs, crickets, otters, watch ice clouds. And Laurent mentioned that deer come as well. The Gite had everything we needed…we are vegans so in France cooking for yourself is essential, but we had no issues with that and the bedroom was comfortable and shower and towels were great. We will definitely be back on our hunt for our dream house in France.
