Granville is a lovely town, with lots to see.
Granville is a lovely town, with lots to see. The old town near the Pont de Roc is a must see as it is very historical. The WW2 bunkers & gun emplacements are so interesting. A walk around the port give a good view of the town from the marina, which is lovely. I have visited Granville on many occasions over the last few decades. There is quiet a lot to do/see.There is the Christian Dior museum to visit. On this occasion I did not eat in any establishment,as I was taking part in the twinning games & we were catered for by the organisers. Great atmosphere with lots going on. Should have had covered seating!! it was over 30, and very hot in the Sun. Unfortunately we got to the Budget Ibis out of town at gone 12 midnight, hot and sweaty after a full day in over 30 degrees, only to find in our room the rubbish bin full, used mugs on the sink and NO TOWELS. Granville lived up to its reputation as ‘the Monaco of the North’. Underrated in my view. Really pretty, plenty of shops, restaurants, history and stunning sea views and walks. The suite was one of six, in a separate block to the main hotel. The suite was modern, comfortable, air conditioned, with a roomy shower-room and adequate kitchenette. The hotel has good car-parking, a lock-up for bicycles and, for an additional charge, a basic but good breakfast. There is a grocery, a boulangerie and a pizza outlet all within a a few minutes walk.
