The staff were very helpful and friendly, even lent me a phone charger as I had forgotten my own. The breakfast was comprehensive and tasty, with fresh bread and croissants every day and a range of food including plenty of fresh fruit. The hotel was being renovated when we stayed so there was some noise and mess around the garden but it never impacted on our comfort. The area, Joinville, is really quiet and genteel, close to the vast Bois de Vincennes and next to the very pleasant river Marne. There's a range of shops selling everything you could need, including a small Carrefour and an Intermarché which both sell very good ready-made food for if you're on a budget. There's also a very nice street market each Wednesday and Saturday. It's a 15-min walk to Joinville-le-Pont métro station (line D) but there are regular buses and you can hire bikes in two separate locations nearby. All in all I would highly recommend Hôtel Cinepole if you don't want to (or can't afford to!) stay more centrally, or if you simply want to stay in a pretty and likeable parisian suburb.

    Our stay was passable only because the receptionist was...

    Our stay was passable only because the receptionist was friendly and we had use of the eating area which was quiet. Otherwise, the room was very small, the bed mattress hard, no tea/coffee making equipment and no hair dryer in the room, very squeaky doors and an overpowering smell of carpet perfume. We will stay there again only if we have to.

    It was comfortable and there were plenty of shops, restaurants and bars close by. Unless you have a car I recommend buying a Navigo Card which enables you to use the train and bus to get around Paris and suburbs including Disneyland. The train station and bus stops were within walking distance. On Saturday's there is a huge market right outside the hotel, stretching for a kilometre, selling anything from vegetables, various meats and seafood, bric-a-brac, clothing and shoes.

    This is a lovely area, and a pleasant surprise.

    This is a lovely area, and a pleasant surprise. The hotel is no really a no frills type of place. However, the manager was very helpful and gave us a kettle and hairdryer when we asked for them. It lacks Parisian charm, but I would definitely stay there again, should I need to be in the east of Paris.

    This is a really lovely place to stay at, I even saw manager or manageress cleaning the floors in the lobby. My room was spotless. Ability buy items at reception water, alcohol etc The hotel is close to RER for access to central Paris but local area is very friendly and Soulcat next door Irish bar is a bonus, not heard from the hotel. A 1min walk around the corner. I will definitely be returning again. chapeau 👏👏👏

    A fabulous well appointed apartment 10 minutes walk to Joinville-le-Pont shops and public transport. Quiet, leafy suburb of Paris. Easily accessible to central Paris by the RER. Great communication from the host.

    This hotel is decent but it was pricey...The rugby world cup may have helped to inflate the price. It was ok for what I wanted and the staff were ok, but I wouldn't necessarily return at that rack rate.

    We consider this to be a hotel in Paris because the RER takes you into the centre in 10 minutes. So the value for what you get (quite large rooms, efficient staff, very clean...) is excellent.
