A 'Most Beautiful Village of France' and rightly so.
A 'Most Beautiful Village of France' and rightly so. Old chateau (which you can visit) on the Loire and other old buildings abound. Very well curated with good signage and explanations. As you leave Montsoreau you come to Candes St Martin (another MBVF) just along the river which is also well worth a visit. Spectacular church and many other old buildings. The property is beautiful, and we had a lovely spacious comfy ensuite room. Marie served a lovely breakfast of bread and pastries in the morning. We also got to meet her sweet dog :) Would definitely recommend staying here in the stunning village of Montsoreau. Do a walk around the village (and neighbouring Candes St Martin) as it’s very beautiful. Also would recommend eating at Le Montsorelli which is a 3 min walk from the property. Such a welcome greeting and hospitalityfrom Carole and Eric, the proprietors and also from their reception staff. We had the apartment which was well appointed and very comfortable. The private car park opposite the hotel was very convenient. Enjoyed the wine tasting but should have booked the Spa earlier to avoid disappointment. Alexandra met us and instantly set the relaxed tone we needed, providing us with a refreshing bottle of Rose and showing us the walking route down to Montsoreau. The chalet was perfect for our short stay and we only wish we’d had another day to explore the surroundings more as well as enjoy the pool.
