Morzine is in a constant state of improvement.
Morzine is in a constant state of improvement. Lots of buidings being updated or replaced. Ski lIfts are regularly updated. Good Apres-Ski. Some good restaurants. A great place to say - lots of variety of shops and bars. Always enjoy the cavenbar and some of the food was fabulous. Morzine seems to be the central village of thé Portes du Soleil. The restaurants and shops are plentiful and quite good. The ski area is not too extensive but the options are to branch out east or west for a more extensive experience. I absolutely loved Morzine.
I absolutely loved Morzine. It has quite a bad reputation for pretty poor skiing however, most days we were there it was great and you can get a bus or gondola up to Avoriaz which is super easy and quick! The food was a standout for us, nearly every restaurant we dined in was exceptional and pretty good value. La Chaudanne and La Grange were two highlights for us! It's very easy to get around with the free buses but I wish the C bus was a little more regular and the app could show you which direction the bus was going in. It’s a 5 minute max walk to super morzine. We’d left our skis and boots at the rental so was very easy. Hotel does have a boot room though if you need it. We used the swimming pool and sauna every day post ski and it was lovely to have such facilities. The bar was warmed by a fire every night and it was well stocked. Breakfast lovely. Location was ideal - we were a group with small children and it is very close to the ESF children's ski school. It is also very close to the Pleney lift and although this was closed, there is a little train that you hop on to get to the Super Morzine.
