This is one of the most beautiful and picturesque villages...
This is one of the most beautiful and picturesque villages in the Alsace wine region. It can be busy during the day at peak season as it is on the Wine Route and gets a lot of day visitors. Staying here means that you get to experience it in the mornings and evenings when it is generally fairly quiet and you can really enjoy the surroundings and the handful of local restaurants and cafes. For us, that was one of the best reasons to stay here. It is also a great location for days out around the region, to Basle in Switzerland (40 minutes by car) and also across the Rhine into Germany (30-40 minutes by car) being fairly central. From the UK, it is easy and fairly quick to get to with Eurostar into Strasbourg or cheap flights to Basle Airport then local transport.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The restaurant staff were especially helpful and offered suggestions for local wines and touring. Also helpful with picking a wine for dinner at the Sequoia restaurant. Breakfast was great. We had a lovely balcony with a view and very quiet room. Parking easy. Lovely town to stay in and nice to be just on the edge of town. One of my favorite villages in France! Easily walkable and gorgeous views. Great restaurants and street vendors, beautiful architecture, & friendly locals. Highly recommend burgers, tarte flambée, and drinks at Le Grognard. We also enjoyed a tasting at Dopff Winery.Guest review byXariaUnited States

The city of Riquewihr is simply magical so it was a pleasure just to be in the area. The host was very responsive, friendly and provided clear and detailed directions and instructions. The apartment was spacious and well appointed in terms of kitchen items. There were plenty of towels and linens available.
