The hostess went above and beyond to make our stay interesting and welcoming. You go there for the nature and animals. It is an idyllic little village in the heart of mountains. The homey room has a magnificent view. Be sure to have the dinner (table d'hôte), the stay won't be complete without it. Breakfast bread is freshly baked and still hot. Only 4km from the Ray Pic waterfall.

A very individual yet classy style in a traditional French stone house in the middle of the Ardèche area. Very uncomplicated and super friendly staff, and the restaurant serves ingenious and delicious food (dinner & breakfast) in a distinctly French style environment: warm atmosphere, unobtrusive music, sympathetic guests. Plus, the hotel has a sauna and whirlpool for recreation. All was perfect, it feels like home. We are experienced travellers and see a lot of hotels - this is a top pick. We were surprised to find an ambiente this perfect in this charming little village of Montpezat.

I received a phone call from the host as I finally reached the top of my long climb into the Ardèche during a long distance cycle race. Enquiring as to when I would arrive. I explained my fatigue and that it might take some time. I was assured that this was not a problem. On arrival I was greeted very warmly, shown my room and invited to dine too. During my whole 9 day, 2700km trip this was the only time I felt I just had to stay for breakfast, so kind were my hosts. The location is truly spectacular. By night the sense of peace and tranquility is extraordinary.

Wonderful to find good accommodation that welcomed my dog with the additional bonus of a truly exceptional evening meal.
