Very picturesque town plenty of bars and restaurants. Easy to walk around. Scenic riverside walk. If you are feeling energetic enough you can attempt the steep walk to the top of the old part of Saint-Flour (we made it halfway up could not complete the walk as we had a restaurant booked. The bedroom was lovely and the bathroom great (apart from the shower gel ran out). We wouldn’t normally eat dinner in a hotel but the food here was excellent- in choice, presentation and taste. Great wine list and half bottles also available across many fine wines. The cheese board was superb, although the option of some crackers would have been even better. Parquet flooring, wood panelling and ornate ceilings throughout. Spacious rooms, kettle and very modern shower. Local produce for breakfast and a host who was local and so knowledgeable on the house and local area. Passed here many times on the motorway going south. The real plus factor is Pierre, the owner, he is such a nice man. A great chef, a lovely host who cannot do enough for you, and so helpful.
