At the end of the season - mid September it was not too busy but had plenty of restaurants to choose from. We had our dog with us so appreciated the walking areas around St Martin although the beaches are not available to the dogs. We loved the beach restaurant at Cible but you need to reserve by SMS. Fantastic fish! Also liked La Flotte, Arse en Re and Bois Plage. We drove and walked but the cycle paths are abundant but so are the cyclists!Guest review byCarolineFrance - 8.0

Very safe town to walk around, some nice upmarket shops. Plenty of places to rent bikes. Lots of restaurants and shops, the port is very pretty.
Lots of restaurants and shops, the port is very pretty. Carparking is very expensive unless you park at one about a 15 minute walk away - this was free though. In August the port/town is extremely busy, as is the whole island. Buses are very reasonably priced, e visited La Rochelle one day for €4.50 return. Beyond charming! A stunning port town with great views, delightful little streets with beautiful shops. Just amazing. Absolutely captured my heart. Delicious local seafood practically everywhere and the most amazing ice cream at La Martinere - we visited every night. The covered market is pretty special.
