Everything. The place has a wonderful family feel and we felt so welcome. We brought our two miniature schnauzers and they were also welcomed with open arms. Communication was excellent prior and during the stay, and the food is an absolute hidden gem here, superb.

Friendly staff at all points of contact, couldn't fault the service., Great location (we attended a wedding at Bury Court). Had lunch on arrival and really enjoyed the food, excellent breakfast too. Everywhere was lovely and clean and rooms had everything you would need. Just a pity we didn't have more time to spend there. Hope we get the opportunity to revisit in the future.

Really lovely location.

Really lovely location. Quite easy to get too and room was clean and nicely decorated. The food was of a very high standard. Only issue was parking but that's down to the fact that the restaurant is very popular with the locals so to be expected. Didn't get to visit any of the local attractions as I was there for an event.

The location was excellent as we wanted to ride on the...

The location was excellent as we wanted to ride on the Watercress Line heritage train and the station is about a 5 minute walk away. There are bus stops right outside the hotel if you want to go elsewhere. The car parking facilities are good. There is a large Waitrose supermarket adjacent to Alton railway station. We visited Chawton House which is nearby. The gardens there are beautiful and the cafe is excellent, lovely home made cakes. Maybe more attention should be paid by the maintenance staff to ensure door locks work properly, and basin plugs hold the water!

The best thing about the hotel was the warm welcome from the staff and the comfortable room. The hotel is very conveniently located for getting to a range of shops and eateries. I felt it was good value for money.

Alton is a lovely small town, the countryside surrounding it...

Alton is a lovely small town, the countryside surrounding it is very picturesque with lots of quaint villages , including Chawton home to Jane Austin. There is also the heritage watercress steam train that runs from Alton .

I cannot give an unbias view as I live in Alton however, there is so much to do. Walking, historical places, wide and diverse places to visit all in easy reach. Winchester, Portsmouth, Salisbury, Chichester, the coast, New Forest. Something for everyone whatever age and ability.

The hotel is situated in the centre of Alton with a large public car park behind it and close to a large choice of bars, cafes and restaurants. It is also 15 minutes drive from Chawton House and Jane Austen House in Chawton. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the rooms are comfortable. Prices are reasonable and affordable too.

Yes the room was nice, clean , very comfy bed . The staff very friendly especially the lady behind the bar . Breakfast was lovely , all buffet style . We ate in the evening at the hotel, very nice , decent sized meals . Overall our stay was very good.A good base for visiting several places . Definitely stay again.

The most uncomfortable stay we’ve ever suffered. Hottest day of the year. We requested fans for 2 superior rooms but hotel had none… the rooms were like saunas. Mouse and smoke from the function suite was a nightmare until 1 an. The room is illuminated by an outside light so not dark. We will never go back
