Darren and Karen are a very friendly couple. The breakfast was good, you have the order the day before to avoid any waste. The room was good, the bed was excellent. The shower was good, and the view during breakfast was great. A view over the lake, birds, a squirrel, mice. Just great.

This place is simply amazing! The staff were so friendly and eager to help us. We only stayed for a short time and truly regret not being able to extend our visit. The kids can’t stop talking about the house and how much they want to come back! The place was spotless, very comfortable, and of a truly high standard. We are definitely planning to return!

Staff were incredibly friendly - especially the women who checked us out. We brought a large dog and they were very accommodating towards us. Such spacious rooms with the most amazing beds! Would definitely stay here again :)

    Darren and Karen are wonderful hosts. The Old Cottage is a perfect place to stay to explore the area. Stunning location and fabulous accommodation! My room was very comfortable and spacious, and the bed was amazing! Excellent breakfast too! Everything about my stay was superb and I will be back. Highly recommend!

    Loads to see and do in the area for if you like the outdoors...

    Loads to see and do in the area for if you like the outdoors. Hill walking, water sports available. Loch Melfort Hotel is handy for good food and drink. Easy access to west coast and all its attractions.

    Very comfortable, nice room and en suite. Plenty of space.

    Very comfortable, nice room and en suite. Plenty of space. Easy to book a table for an evening meal at the nearby Hotel. The B&B breakfast next morning was great. Friendly hosts who helped all guests feel at home. Excellent supply of books and tourist info.
