The Castle is in the centre of Bakewell so very convenient for exploring locally. Chatsworth House is only a few miles away and a great day out. Had a wonderful lunch at The Castle Inn. Dog friendly too which was a bonus. Great value meal. A good variety of shops in Bakewell including a fabulous store for dogs - Barks & Co who give great service. Had a take out from Raja’s at our holiday let in Upper Haddon. Very tasty! Bakewell is a very pretty place with lots of traditional shops and cafes, buildings made of traditional stone - very picturesque and nice riverside walks. The room was characterful with the old wooden beams of the structure thoughtfully incorporated into the modernised decor. Once understanding of how the shower was done, it was great: good water flow and kept selected temperature. The kitchenette had everything one might need for a short stay.
