A lovely town with plenty of pubs and restaurants. The beach is lovely and there was a sauna on the beach too! 3 places I would highly recommend: 1. Bistro Bermo for amazing food. You will need to book as it's only small. 2. Dylan's for fabulous cakes, savouries & coffee 3. Pieces for Places for gifts, homewares and furniture. There was a small market on Sunday and I think there is one on another day too. Plenty of choice of shops. I would also recommend a walk across the bridge.Guest review byLindsey - 10.0
Barmouth is a lovely seaside town.
Barmouth is a lovely seaside town. I have been coming here every year for over 50 years and it is like a second home to me. Will continue to visit this wonderful place. Harlech castle isn’t far along the coast with several fab beaches along the way. Barmouth is a great place ,a hidden gem lots to see & do for all ages. Plenty of excellent eating places and wonderful scenery. The beach is long and with lovely sand with dunes & surrounded by the welsh hills . The beach promenade is flat to walk along & fairly clean with benches to sit and rest when needed. Great base to explore other interesting places and especially by train. Barmouth has enough entrainment for all ages and the beach is amazing and so clean. Barmouth felt too busy on arrival.
Barmouth felt too busy on arrival. The train was overheated and very crowded for the journey back to Shrewsbury. That destroyed a perhaps-naive hope that it would be an idyllic chance to view Wales. Lovely spot in North Wales, lovely beach and some nice restaurants. Locals were friendly . We did a boat trip around Cardigan Bay and it was well worth the £20 per head cost, although we were very lucky with the weather. Some nice shops. I had the best breakfast, coffee and homemade scones ever. I can see the seaside through the window on a sunny day. Good value of money for 2 nights which includes the breakfast. There's umbrellas by the side to use incase it's raining which is a great idea. Beautiful hotel, amazing bathroom and bedroom. The property location was so convenient for getting into Barmouth town and also a fairly quick journey into Bala for the watersports available there.
