Quirky hotel 500 years old. Locality - central to village- close to Grantham water and Buckden Towers. Basic room. The hotel requires an upgrade but its architecture is great. The plumbing is a challenge. Overall I enjoyed my stay.Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Buckden Tower/Palace is a Claretian centre for missionaries...
Buckden Tower/Palace is a Claretian centre for missionaries and anybody is allowed to wander the grounds to look at the Tower where Catherine of Aragon was once held. The palace was used by the Bishops of Lincoln to rest between journeys from London to Lincoln and other notable visitors such as James I, Henry VIII, Catherine Howard and Samuel Pepys amongst others. There is also a garden dedicated to Catherine but sadly the gate was locked on both occasions I went to view it. I think a tour of the tower is possible if arranged beforehand. There is also a longer walk around the grounds if you have the time. Grafton Water is not far away and so is Cambridge but not much else in the village to see.Guest review byTanyaUnited Kingdom
