Kintyre is absolutely gorgeous - so beautiful, unspoilt, rugged and wonderful. Campbeltown used to be a little run-down but it was looking pretty good with lots of independent shops, two distilleries and a busy yacht harbour. Campbelltown is a lovely small town. Very picturesque. Lots of independent shops and eateries. Beautiful walk along the seafront. For the size of the town there's a reasonable amount to do. Mainly is to visit Springbank distillery, other than that, there's not much to see at the town. We were hoping to get some live shellfish fresh from the sea, but doesn't seem like available to be sold to consumers directly. Great place to base for golf, walking, fishing or just absolute relaxation. It’s a hidden gem and even the journey here is spectacular with the alps of Arrochar to the crashing waves along the Kintyre peninsula.
