The b&b was fantastic! It was not just a room; it was almost a whole apartment with everything we needed (including a separate dressing room, kitchen appliances, a bathroom with rain shower, usb plugs)! The location is great; the view from there is nice and peaceful, and the garden is just beautiful! The warm welcome from the very nice hosts and the decoration details (books, funny wall decor, Scottish decor, a box on the bed with anything we could need for a shower and a good sleep) made us feel at home in Scotland! A small fridge with orange juice and milk was offered, as well as a big variety of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and cookies/sweets.. just for us! The breakfast was brought to us in the apartment in the morning in a cute box, and it included all possible things one can find in a continental buffet (toast bread, butter croissants, chocolate croissants, fruit salad, butter, honey, jams, cheese, ham..)! We thank you so much for this experience! We will come back every time we visit Scotland :)

Owner is there when you arrive, so so friendly and welcoming. Explains everything you need to know which is very quick and simple. There's bindersr explaining everything and labels on switches so you know what they all do. You get left to your own devices and you wouldn't know there was anyone next door but knowing they're there if you need help is amazing. It's so out of the way and peaceful, I'll definitely be back.

Everything about the Annex was excellent - the furnishings, cooking utensils etc were of a really good quality. Communication with Sarah was extremely good. It is located in a private, peaceful area just a short walk into town. We will certainly return if we are coming back to the area, and highly recommend the Annex.

It's more secluded than I could have wished for, with my bedroom looking out over a field of beautiful sunrise and honeysuckle. Yet, close enough for my teen girls to safely walk to the village on their own. Clear instructions to get there, with a simple Master lock key entry, though the hosts gave a polite, 'we're here and we acknowledge you wave', perfect for us, a happy mix of autistic women in need of peace and quiet. There is a deck and a patio, private and warm. The house is immaculate, clean, clear lines, perfect, new, fresh bedding and towels. My favourite touches being tea in the cupboard and milk in the fridge for our arrival! Then, as if I weren't quite sure if this were lucky or subtle elegance, the bath products had 'The Lodge at Woodend' on the bottles. Niche. All kitchen necessities in house, and a TV and WiFi. There is a wood burner and lighters and some logs for a special winter touch.

    The purpose of our visit was to have private accomodation...

    The purpose of our visit was to have private accomodation for our family of 3 (1 baby of 6 months old) to see family in the area. --What we loved-- - We loved the free bottle of wine on arrival! - The property was extremely clean and well presented. - Free logs for the fire! - The provision of a travel cot for little one, it was the biggest travel cot I've ever seen! - We cooked for ourselves at the property and found it had everything we needed to do so. - There was an amazon account signed in so we could watch some movies/tv shows. - Tea bags/coffee/toilet rolls/shampoo and conditioner where available at the property. - Large beds, very comfy - Plenty of blankets/throws - The owner was extremely helpful/forthcomming --Suggested improvements-- - A lock on the bathroom door would be a good addition to the property, especially for parties of 6 people as there is only one bathroom. - Curtains/blinds for the doors in the living room and kitchen would add a cosier feel and a bit more privacy during the evenings. Whilst secluded, I still felt a bit exposed on the dark nights with the lights on. - The knives in the kitchen were very blunt and larger cooking pots would be good for larger parties. - Instructions on how to use the storage heaters. As we had a young baby it was important to keep the bedroom warm, we eventually figured out the hand meant manual mode. - A hair dryer available would be nice - Larger towels -- Overall -- We would love to stay again should our plans to do so require it. The owner was very helpful and although I have suggested some improvements, none of this reflected nor had a negative impact on our stay.
