The hosts were incredible, from producing a meal in the evening after the kitchen was long closed, to upgrading us to a bigger room which became available, at no extra charge. Curt produced a great cooked breakfast and some unusual and tasty american style breakfasts. The evening menu was small but they were happy to produce any requests, we asked for Haggis neaps and tatties, that was no problem and was delicious. They were happy to socialise with their guests and provided some great advice about the local area. Earlston is a small village that is an easy 45min drive from Edinburgh and a great base to explore this lovely and historic area. Earlston is a lovely village with some interesting history.
Earlston is a lovely village with some interesting history. There are a few nice shops but not many places to eat or stay. I did find a gem of a pub in the Black Bull, and a friendly welcome from Rose & Brian.
