Manor House was in a great position to we needed to see (Kynren, Raby Castle, Force Falls, Hartlepool) The hotel was very clean, the staff helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The breakfast choice was good and the food great. The breakfast was of good quality ingredients and nothing laying in fat. We had two evening meals and they too were good. We had one of the older rooms and it was nice although the refurbed rooms are available now

The setting was fantastic old ,charming ,and full of cariture the staff could not have been more helpful. Ashley and her team were the absolute in professionalism. If I owned a hotel they are the staff to have.

Lovely location just off the A66. Great for visiting County Durham and North Yorkshire. Stay was made very special by the hotel staff who were extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. General manager Paul Riley has put together a great team.

Everything about our stay from arriving early and being checked straight in, the room we were in was in the original part if the building it had so much charm, temperature in the room was perfect, bed was comfortable, room was immaculate. Would highly recommend staying here, breakfast the next morning is probably the best we've ever had in a hotel.

We had a brilliant short stay in Ravensworth. The accommodation was ideal, with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable living room, and spacious bedroom. We appreciated the tea, coffee and sweet treats on arrival. Located in the heart of the village, Thimble Cottage is an ideal base for local walks. The village pub is only a short distance away and offers a fabulous choice of tasty dishes.

Pristine cosy cottage with stylish furnishings and wonderful shower. Excellent information from host, few minutes from the Spotted Dog pub where we ate both nights. Food and service were great, thank you for the recommendation and for a really relaxing weekend Simon.

John & Anne are lovely people - we 'clicked ' with them when we first met. Delightful property with some beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Well-equipped kitchen and bathroom. As we live in a semi-rural area, we appreciated this lovely cottage in a delighfully quiet village.

    The village pub is closed on Tuesday's however there is a...

    The village pub is closed on Tuesday's however there is a shop adjacent to the pub whereby you can get most supplies (alcohols and the likes) to spend the evening in the accommodation. There is also a fish and chip shop which again was closed however details of opening times are displayed for all to see. Gainford is a small but pleasant village between Barnard Castle and Darlington.
