Owner was my waiter on first day.On second day the waitress,Angela was very efficient & pleasant.The owner,David,provided bus timetables,suggestions on how to spend an interesting day in the area,& was very amenable,& helpful. My room was delightful.Heated tile floors.Great shower.Bedroom with two single beds up carpeted stairs.Comfortable.

Great little town with good pubs ,eateries , shops .

Great little town with good pubs ,eateries , shops . Good base for exploring the North east , was there with friends all on motobikes and the local roads were fantastic ,scenic and hardly any traffic , though we went mid October so out of season . Lots of historic sites to visit around the area . Looking forward to revisiting.

A pleasant little town with a fair selection of eateries. Has a railway station with services to Newcastle and Carlisle (plus Hexham, Brampton and other small towns/villages). There are also buses.

Really handy for Hadrian's Wall, accessible by train and...

Really handy for Hadrian's Wall, accessible by train and with a decent local bus service. This is a small town and busy in the summer, quiet in the winter, set in gorgeous countryside all year round. We had good food at the Manor House Inn. The local landscape and history are obviously the big draws here, if you can walk or cycle it's perfect country for it.

Lovely little town that is the centre of Britain. Full of character, great mix of small private businesses and larger chains. Excellent restaurants and pubs. Stay here to explore the width of Britain at it's narrowest part.

Haltwhistle was a nice town with enough to see and do.

Haltwhistle was a nice town with enough to see and do. We enjoyed our walk out to Hadrians Wall, despite the lack of sign-posting for walkers in town. It was a shame that shops in town appeared to close early in the afternoon, however being a small town it was to be expected

Haltwhistle is a lovely little town with loads of independent shops as well as a chemist, Co-op and Sainsburys. There are loads of places to eat out in Haltwhistle, we had a lovely evening meal at the Manor House Hotel and Restaurant, with excellent service and delicious food. We also had breakfast at Bonnie's which was really good. People are very friendly and helpful in the town. Don't forget to get the infamous photo at the centre of Great Britain!

The hotel is right in the centre of Haltwhistle and a short walk to the train station - we spent an evening in Hexham. Close to Hadrians Wall and roman forts. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant and the breakfasts were great with a good choice and staff were lovely and friendly and efficient. As we were 2 couples, iIt was great having a self-contained apartment rsther than 2 separate hotel rooms so that we had the communal space of the kitchen and a comfortable lounge.

A cosy and private place in the middle of the countryside with a beautiful view. Located nearby Haltwhistle with many options for meals and drinks. Hadrians wall can be reached within a few minutes. Fully equipped. Individual breakfast considering all wishes after prior notification. Comfy beds. Fearga and Graham are such friendly and open minded hosts. They met all our needs and provided us with many helpful information. 12 points if it were an ESC ranking. 👌😇

This is the second time that we’ve stayed at Belford House. It’s such a comfortable room/stay that now we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. The rooms are spotless and clean but with home comforts. Excellent shower and bathroom and nice touches of bottles of water in the fridge fresh milk and tea and coffee. Radio/music or TV if you needed it. Central to shops pubs and restaurants in Haltwhistle.

Brilliant, friendly and helpful hosts, lovely spacious room, delicious breakfast and very convenient location to access Hadrian’s Wall and the extraordinary Vindolanda by bus. Haltwhistle is also a quiet but friendly town with at least two great pubs.
