I liked the bar and restaurant best in the Saracen's Head. My room was a little disappointing. The hotel fronted onto the market square, which was very pretty, with some interesting shops. Highworth is a lovely small market town with lots of interesting history. It has a very useful visitor centre with a small museum. The surrounding area is beautiful with a lot of ancient historical monuments and sites within easy reach. The bedding and towels were white and very clean, There was shower gel and shampoo in the ensuite. The pub/hotel was right on the HIgh Street with shops and pubs cafes etc. and there was free parking at the back.
