The location was perfect for flying out the next morning. We did choose to pay for the shuttle to Terminal 5, rather than haul our luggage on the free train. It's a very nice hotel, the room was small but comfortable for 1 night, and the beds were fine, though a little on the firm side as the English seem to like. We had a very nice Indian dinner at the Urban Brass conveniently located in the hotel lobby. The Indian choices were authentic and delicious, not overly spicy as Indian food goes. I think the Indian choices are better than the English side of the menu, as it is primarily Indian with a very friendly staff from India. The buffet breakfast was ideal for us and in a very quiet and peaceful setting. There were people around to help you to a seat and so the dining room didn't seem too overcrowded. The staff greeted us and that made a difference to our experience for breakfast!! The room was better than expected and we took a walk in the evening despite it being on a busy road. The reception staff helped with information about the shuttle bus to our terminal and it all worked well. We had two rooms booked since March for our stay in September, one of which was specifically a twin room for my two sons (aged 18 and 21). On arrival, after a long and confusing check-in process, we were first told that the hotel could not find our reservation. After around 15 stressful minutes, they eventually located it—only to then inform us that they had no twin rooms available due to an unspecified "issue," which was never properly explained. Instead, they gave my sons a king bed to share. These are two grown men, so it was completely unsuitable. In the end, one of them had to sleep on the floor. Staying here the night before our flight made our experience of flying long-haul so much more comfortable, and I would definitely stay again. The hotel is huge and has a restaurant, bar and cafe plus a couple of shops. We didn't hear planes at all in our room, but you can see them shortly after takeoff in the cafe area.
