The hotel is in a small village with a shop, a village hall and a very nice little pub that serves great ale. The hotel is not cheap but it delivers in a lot of ways. The food is lovely, both in the bar and the restaurant, the pool is very nice, the rooms and housekeeping are great but above all else it was the staff. They were polite and made time to chat and talk about the area and such. The location, close proximity to Haytor, and Dartmoor in general is a walkers dream. The food was gorgeous and the spa very relaxing which you could use whenever you fancied ! My husband had a massage therapy which he enjoyed very much ! The hotel itself was full of character with three lounges to relax in and a Grandfather clock in the reception area ! Homemade flapjack left in room each morning which gave a welcoming touch.
