Basically everything! Pleasantly, we were upgraded upon arrival to a wonderful, spacious, light and comfortable room. Staff were very attentive, showed us through the hotel’s lovely facilities and booked us into the restaurant where we had an amazing evening meal. Bed was heavenly comfortable where we slept peacefully followed by an exceptional breakfast. The grounds and spa facilities also excellent. A truly luxurious stay!!

Janet and Allan were fantastic hosts and the property itself was exceptional. Location was perfect with just a short walk (15 min) into the town centre. Kelso is a very nice town and we wished we could have stayed longer. We are hopeful to return and can fully recommend this property. Also fully recommend Scott's of Kelso in the town centre for a meal and or drink -- staff were fantastic !

I felt very well and I warmly recommend the hotel to everyone who wants a good bed (my bed was so big that it was as if I was sleeping on my own island), the kitchen is well equipped and I could have breakfast when I wanted, without depending on the opening hours of the restaurants, I had hot water, well-equipped bathroom, central location, it was clean - everything would have been perfect, if I hadn't had problems upon arrival, but I hope that the management learned their lesson and will check well everything before the arrival of the guests. If it hadn't been for that incident, everything would have been more than perfect. ;-)

    A lovely historic market town, independent shops, historic buildings. the abbey, although closed, looks stunning. Loved the atmosphere. It is also close to other place like the Leaderfoot viaduct, Scott’s view, Abbotsford to name a few.

    Kelso is an interesting town in its own right .

    Kelso is an interesting town in its own right . Plenty of interesting shops , bars , and a square to add to the overall attraction . The Cream Chimneys cafe on the square is first class with interesting innovative dishes and advertises live music on weekend evenings . You would need to make a reservation for this . Nearby Floors Castle is worth a visit , and you can walk along the river which is easy to get to . Kelso would be a good base from which to visit other Border towns . There is plenty of streetside parking .

    Kelso is a lovely town and great for a weekend away. Just about the only town that I can think of that has a propper square in the centre of it. Lot of privately owned shops which creates an interesting experience for browsing.. Great local walks

    Very nice Borders town on the confluence of the River Tweed...

    Very nice Borders town on the confluence of the River Tweed and the River Teviot. Weather was excellent which always help. Nice town to walk around with excellent riverside walks. Floors Castle gardens, which is very close, is worth a visit too.

    What a beautiful Borders town.

    What a beautiful Borders town. Restaurants, cafes, bakeries, pubs, shops - it has a FatFace!!!! Clean - not a single scrap of litter anywhere- and beautifully maintained. River for walks, park to sit & enjoy nature, ruined abbey for history. Struck by how many people knew each other, and greeted friends as they passed. Excellent location for sight-seeing in the local area, being within easy reach of Melrose & surrounding tourist destinations.

    Kelso is a beautiful scenic town with Floors Castle within walking distance from our accommodation. Lots of historical places. Great for those who love cycling, walking. A selection of places to eat. Fish n chips, kebabs, pub food, Greggs, Cake shop... We travel 370 miles to stay in Kelso. 4 times since August last year. Will we be coming back again? Of course!

    Staff were absolutely amazing - welcoming , friendly, accommodating. The room was a great size and the bed very comfy. I was travelling with my toddler and we had our dog with us too. Both dog and child felt just as welcome as any adult guest. All in all, a great hotel right in the centre of Kelso next to the river Tweed. Lots of parking outside too. Will definitely use again on our next trip.

    Excellent hotel, in a lovely location central to Kelso. The accommodation was really good and would happily have stayed longer. The food (evening meal and breakfast) was outstanding as was the restaurant decor The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Thank You.
