Smashing village inn set in the English countryside. Accommodations are great and the food is marvelous. Kingsdon is managed by a super couple, Adam and Cinzia. (I hope they get an opportunity to have their own place one day.) Their service commitment is enviable. Stayed one night and planned dinner for 3 people here. Adam (chef) offers a surprising array of food items to choose from. Their kitchen pulls it off. Great presentation. Great flavors. Cinzia (front of house and a master of managing chaos I think :) is so nice. Everyone in my dinner party really enjoyed their dinner and the ambiance. Breakfast next morning was something to behold. I'm glad I changed my mind. I asked if I could have it the next day. Didn't want to live with that regret :) I would definitely like to return again with my wife next time.

The owners, Maureen and Phil were extremely welcoming, helpful and left us a lovely welcome pack, which included Maureen's homemade bread and fresh butter to go with it. It was lovely to meet the dogs - 2 wire haired Hungarian Vizslas and also their lovely Bengal cat and look out of our door at the chickens happily wandering around in the garden. A lovely, well appointed and mostly very comfortable (see below) apartment, the bed was lovely and comfortable and we enjoyed a good nights sleep every night. Would certainly highly recommend and we're definitely planning to visit again.

Dinner was excellent. My husband had venison and I had brill, both meals were delicious. Breakfast was great, we had a full english and eggs benedict, both were cooked to perfection. Our room was ample in size and clean.

Service was perfekt, breakfast really good and generous! The village Montacute Is a real gem. We enjoyed the quiz at the local pub, failed of course, we are swedes!!! Next day we visited the Montacute House (we got a gift voucher from the host, thanks!) and took part in I guided tour by Ray, really interesting history.
