Although the photo of the village field looks nice, Lydbrook isnt the most attractive or tranquil village close to this house and the main road is quite busy, but it gets nicer when you walk up the hill and is lovely in Lower Lydbrook just half a mile down the road near the river. Lovely for exploring the Forest of Dean. Great dog walks in the area - symonds yat, soudley ponds, cannop ponds, or venture further into Monmouth (cleddon shoots / forest). Lovely country with walks in neighbourhood. However other places required journey in car. Public transport difficult to find in this area. We self catered and enjoyed doing do, as local places were not able to accommodate such a large party of 16. Lydbrook is not that easy to get around if not familiar with the area. You need a good map and clement weather. Foot paths tend to run out or be overgrown and rather muddy. Difficult walking with young children. Super cosy, warm, great value for money.
Super cosy, warm, great value for money. WiFi was intermittent as was phone signal, but this is a reflection on location rather than cottage. Parking was a bit confusing, but that was made worse by the fact that we had a van as opposed to a car.Guest review byJohn - 10.0

Lydbrook is situated on the banks of the River Wye in beautiful scenery. The B & B gave a very helpful list of local restaurants.
