Corris is a small friendly village where I frequently found myself talking to the villagers. It's in a narrow valley where the only sounds are birdsong and the river cascading down the mountain. Truly an idyllic location.

We knew the area well having stayed in other properties over several years. A good place to stay for travel to other holiday spots, sadly though the area has degenerated somewhat in terms of eateries and shops.

Train station not too far away.

Train station not too far away. Big public car park with clean public toilets. Lots of cafes, bars and interesting little shops. It has a big coop for self caterers. A good base for a number of excursions, walking or biking. Can get busy as it’s has a lot of amenities for the locals in a wide catchment area. Great park and buildings with lots of features.

Lots going on with festivals like the Comedy Festival in May and Pride Festival , quite a lot of boats about . Tai Chi classes. Interesting shops , historical sites , Caffi Glyndwr a favourite , the first Parliament building , green spaces - including community allotments growing food, shadey walks . I liked the choice of cafes and eating places . Easy access to beautiful countryside and to the sea . Bike paths and a skateboard park . Everyone I met friendly . I could live here !

We had a truly unforgettable experience during our stay, thanks to the exceptional hospitality of Rhian, the owner of the hotel, and her wonderful daughter. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit. Their genuine warmth and care made us feel at home, and we are deeply grateful for everything they did for us. May God bless them both — they will always hold a special place in our hearts and memories.❤️❤️❤️

Machynlleth town centre is only a short walk from the cottage, yet it's very quiet. The cottage is clean, fully equipped, with comfortable sofas and lots of local guide books have been provided. The train station is a 5 minute walk - perfect for visiting the neighbouring coastal towns without the hassle of driving. Highly recommended place!

Breakfasts were very good and the one time we decided to eat an evening meal, that was even better The staff were consistently lovely and the bath was the best Ive ever experienced in a hotel. We would definitely stay again when we return to mid Wales
