We spent 2 nights here visiting friends who lived locally. The hotel is central, was warm and comfortable and with an excellent bathroom. It was perfect for our needs - a quiet room with a comfortable bed.

Not sure where the 5.9 rating is coming from – I honestly can’t agree with it. The staff were absolutely lovely and super helpful. Great, quiet location with a nice pub and kitchen, plus a playground right next to the property. Dog friendly too! Rooms were clean and spacious, and it’s all very budget-friendly. Maybe it’s under new management, don’t know. Either way, the place is brilliant now.

    We know Poyngtington village as our brother and sister in...

    We know Poyngtington village as our brother and sister in law have a property in this area. A typical Dorset village but sadly has limited facilities such as a pub or village shop. If you need to eat then have to jump in the car and travel to Sherborne or Charlton Horthorne or Oborne.
