We are from the US but have longed to visit Polperro for years. We got a chance to visit the UK, was gifted lodgings in a different city, but when this booking popped up, decided the side trip was worth it. Kathryn was great. We got in a little early but when we called her she came down to check us in. She had a wonderful little continental breakfast already prepared in our room with bread, cereals, and other goodies. Very quaint, warm welcoming front room and the bedroom was very comfortable. Very quiet.

This is a newly renovated guest house and our room was beautifully presented with a lovely soft decor. The staff are exceptional and have created a family atmosphere for their guests and we felt immediately at home, appreciating an early check-in in time. Nothing is too much trouble for them! We have been self catering on our holiday and although a continental breakfast can be bought for £10, we chose to prepare our own breakfast in our room’s kitchenette. There is no toaster in the room, but staff were more than happy for us to use the one in the breakfast area. There is a large, comfortable lounge/dining room with a large TV, couch and tables and chairs for guest use and a large variety of coffees are available from a coffee machine at no cost. The bed was very comfortable but small.

The plunging view over the harbour was breathtaking. The bed was so comfortable. The hotel staff were really kind. Enjoyed the complimentary gin and tonic. The town was very cute, not too crowded, very peaceful.

Incredible three night family holiday for grandparents, parents and 3yo child. Fowey Hall exudes luxury with very attentive staff; spacious comfortable rooms; excellent (and delicious) dining options; bars, cosy lounges and terraces with expansive views over the harbour and town. Our intergenerational family group felt very pampered, and our granddaughter declared it "the best holiday ever". Did I mention the kids club -- with a two hour free session each day; our tiny girl came back with art work, her face painted, and animal balloons, plus she'd made lots of new friends. She also loved story time (with mild and cookies); and the nightly movie with popcorn. To top it off, there are indoor and outdoor pools, and an adventure playground. We find that when our youngest family member is happily occupied, we're happy too!! We're already planning to come back next year for a repeat visit.

    Polperro was very busy during the day but by about 6 o clock...

    Polperro was very busy during the day but by about 6 o clock it was quiet. Shops were shut. Restaurants were very expensive but the pubs serving food were very busy. Ate out the 3 nights but the food was only mediocre. Couldn't believe there was no fish and chip shop !! ( I couldn't find one ) The locals were very friendly and we had a great time in the Ship Inn. Walked around the beautiful village but couldnt believe how many air b& b's were around . Quite sad really for the local trades people in the Winter. Wouldn't say it was a great place to take a young family on a holiday, a day trip wold be enough. So i've been to Polperro , but won't be returning.

    The village is clean and tidy with some well maintained...

    The village is clean and tidy with some well maintained gardens. Plenty of places to eat and drink for all budget. Traffic restrictions means a more pleasant walk through the village. The Blue Peter was my favourite pub but some might find the steps quite challenging.

    Friendly staff in cafes and pubs.

    Friendly staff in cafes and pubs. Welcoming of holidaymakers. Gorgeous fishing village, narrow streets. A boat trip around the bay is a must. Very quaint village. Polperro has public toilets which is good, but you are charged for using them.

    A very pretty area with some nice little shops , eating...

    A very pretty area with some nice little shops , eating places/ and pubs. Live music and meals available in the local pubs. One of our favourite eating places was the Wild River Coffee house ( evening meals available from 5-8) with fresh, home cooked food. We did feel however that some of the opening times of the shops/ cafes a were little restricted ( most were closed by 4pm and not all were open every day) but at the beginning of June , maybe a little early in the season.

    Found Polperro really interesting and as I enjoy photography...

    Found Polperro really interesting and as I enjoy photography it was great to be able to wander around and capture it from different angles, I also found the local people extremely friendly used two different pubs to eat and drink and found them excellent and staff friendly and helpful.

    So quaint there.something to see around every corner.people and pet friendly in shops,cafe and pubs..bit of a night life goes on in the pubs..the walks were challenging and not suitable for disabled along the coast..loved the fact no cars were allowed beyond a certain point.The Pilchard pub did take-aways and the House on props did good b/fast..little expensive for food.Variety of little shops,loved the dog and sweet shop there.

    It was the cutest little place. Our room was clean, cosy and the owners were just lovely people. We absolutely love the quaintness of Polperro and can’t wait to come back. Although the room was small it had everything we needed for our stay and as we only used it as a base it was perfect

    Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Room was great, fresh decor and had everything you need. Fantastic shower too. Breakfast was great with lots of choice, knowledgeable staff who recommended good local restaurants for dinner. The hotel Parking opposite was easy and a rarity in Polperro.
