Perfect little space, space is used well and feels larger and spacious. Extremely comfortable and cosy. Everything you would need is available in the caravan. Beautiful setting and ideally based for touring the island. We will be back!!!

Lovely old building housing both a small hotel (6 rooms) and a superb restaurant, Thai by Ja, expertly run by Ja and Martin - and with a 15% discount for hotel guests. At £101.75 for the room and breakfast, plus £35.50 for a super meal with two beers, it was a bargain. Almost worth making a special trip to the Isle of Wight for. Hotel check-in is self-service, based on pre-registration and an SMS to tell you your room number and the codes needed to enter the hotel and access your room key. Unfortunately, I didn't get an SMS and arrived to find a locked door quoting an emergency phone number that was diverted to voicemail. However, there was also a sign saying the restaurant, whose entrance is just around the corner of the building, was open. There I found Ja's other very friendly half, Martin, who let me in and gave me the key to my first floor room, room 2. Note that there is no lift and half the rooms are on the second floor. My room was spacious, with a rustic look but it had both underfloor heating and a Daikin heating and airco system plus a modern bathroom. Ja (or Martin) had forgotten to put out any towels but this was quickly remedied by Martin. The room had a spacious cupboard with 6 clothes hangers and a safe, plus a chest of drawers, two bedside tables, an old workman's table as a desk and a fan, as well as the very comfortable bed, two antique industrial stools, an armchair, a Nespresso-type coffee machine, a ketlle and a hairdryer (see the comment below about the shower). For my taste, there were two minor negatives: I don't much like hotel rooms with carpeted floors or so-called rain showers, above the bath moreover, which mean that it's difficult to shower without getting your hair wet. There was ample lighting and some 8 power points, though none in the bathroom.

    It was a last minute booking. Advertised as an apartment on booking.com no mention of it being a static caravan on a holiday park, until you have paid. Very mis leading. The windows were filthy, inside and out. The dining table was loose and wonky. The microwave hadn't been cleaned. The WiFi connection was poor. On the plus. Well equipped kitchen and it was pieceful.

    Was about 20 minutes from local shops etc, but to be honest the island isn't exactly massive so we were happy to drive to places, views are always good anyway! We come to the island every year and we always try new places. Top things to do/eat as 5 adults: Robin Hill… can be a kid again! Compton beach Shanklin beach Pencil cottage xmas shop in shanklin Ryde town has some lovely shops Ryde to feed the geese on the lake (100’s of them!) Sloop inn great carvery Chessel pottery cafe cakes galore! The spyglass inn great views while you eat Colwell bay scampi salad and apple pie!

    A very clean, homely and comfortable caravan privately...

    A very clean, homely and comfortable caravan privately rented on Thorness holiday park with parking right outside. Having 2 dogs this was perfect location with sea views and plenty of grass areas around with just a few minutes walk to the beach. All site facilities were closed for the winter months but that suited me perfectly as I wanted quiter out of season break. Traveling from Porchfield is easy with plenty of bars, restaurants etc to choose from around the island and many also being dog friendly.

    Lovely place to set up base and explore the Isle of Wight, 10 minutes drive to Carisbrook Castle which is a great afternoon out. You can also do a great walk from Tennyson downs to the Needles. Amazing costal views (take plenty of water) 2 Minute walk to a local beach and facilities on the park are great should you need them! Recommended and would stay again!

    Fantastic clean water in Thorness Bay beach.

    Fantastic clean water in Thorness Bay beach. You can see down 2-3 meters and we saw fish, crabs and even a ray fish! Lot to do in the Thorness Bay Holiday Resport (playground, restaurant, bar, shop, swimming pool). Eating out in Murrays and in Cibo restaurants were amazing.
