This hotel is a gem and in fact, we wished we could have stayed here longer. The rooms are lovely, the staff are friendly, and the restaurant is well worth a visit. It is well worth the money.

The chalet we was in was clean and tidy well worth the money. The location was perfect my partner enjoyed the 4 lakes you had and would like to book again in the spring. The fields were amazing for the dog he loved running around chasing his ball.

What a nice appartment with an amazing view on the harbour and boats. Good bed, shower bath kitchen. Perfect for a stay for 2 for a week or couple of days. Fast internet. Parking is not a problem outside the busy hours of the (almost) neighbouring pub Heron Inn. We have eaten there two days of our three day stay.

Portloe is a quiet fishing village with very friendly villagers. A local church store sells homemade cookies and little gift items for charity. Spend a relaxing vacation in one of the most beautiful seaside hotels (Lugger Hotel) in Britain.

We were hiking the South West Coast Path from Goran Haven to Portscatho and The Lugger in Portloe is pretty much half way. We arrived late and departed early so we didn't really experience Portloe but looking back from the cliff above Portloe is your quintessential Cornish fishing village. Beautiful. The coast path from Portloe in either direction offers stunning views. Whilst it is definitely not a gentle stroll it's worth the effort.

Its not so easy to get to - down typical Cornish roads but well worth it as the scenery is pretty stunning with the coastal walks you can do. Small beach is pretty and some folks went swimming / diving off the harbour wall. Spent a whole day just doing some of the coastal walk and relaxing taking in the good weather we had. Not much else to do in Portloe itself, there is another pub but seems the main hub of the port is taken up with the Lugger hotel or rentals. Made a very special birthday weekend for my partner - who wasn't so keen on the travel but really relaxed into the stay. Would go back - which is not that often said in the places we have booked.

This is a great place to stay for anyone walking the SW Coastal Path. The Lugger Hotel is amazing and, we also had a sandwich and drink at the Ship Inn - really friendly and, great food and, reasonably priced too, they also have rooms.

Very narrow roads which makes for exciting driving, especially as there is a regular bus service. Beautiful small harbour with two fishing boats regularly coming and going. Rocky all round which made a dramatic feature in strong winds. Very quiet. Mostly well maintained houses, mostly painted white which made the place quaint.

Lovely old fisherman’s cottage that has been lovingly restored. The cottage is in a wonderful location overlooking the working harbour of Portloe and has amazing views out to sea. Our hosts Annie and Giovanni couldn’t have been more friendly, kind and accommodating and went out of there way to make us feel welcome and extremely comfortable during our stay. We didn’t want to leave and very much looking forward to returning in the not too distant future. Thank you Annie and Giovanni!

Just back from a lovely stay at the Lugger! The hotel is in a pretty village with fabulous sea views - the hotel staff were all fantastic particularly the Polish lady at reception who went above and beyond to find us a taxi to take us to the start of our walk - taxi’s on a Sunday are almost impossible to find in that area last minute!

Excellent chef and range of menu for dinners. Stunning view. A very quiet cove but could watch the fishermen launch their boats- an authentic old fashioned Cornwall experience in luxury. The costal path takes off from the hotel so you can get in some good walks with beautiful cliff views.
