Excellent and hearty breakfast if you like, or just a spot of coffee or tea, whatever you like. The breakfast service is something very special and unique, actually - prepared freshly and not just a slimy buffet or a bunch of breakfast rolls and boxes of corn flakes. Kudos to them for actually serving a hot breakfast.

The historic beams, quirky layout, multiple seating areas carefully laid out for with good furniture and lighting, the luxurious spa with exceptional attention to detail, the clean and comfortable bedroom. We were really impressed with the hotel as a whole, we felt relaxed and at home.

Attention to detail on every level from the respectful renovation and retention of quirky features of the building to the planting of roses near the breakfast room home made goods left in room and for breakfast far exceeded any expectation. If you want to spend some time in a luxurious English country house, this is the place. It is approached from a long gravel drive, and then the magnificent house itself becomes visible. Our accommodation (in the Stables) was spacious, comfortable and clean, while the breakfast (extra) was very good.

We had a lovely stay in Claire’s beautiful little cottage. The breakfasts were very tasteful and she even suggested making variations if we wanted to. She had some amazing tips for places to visit and where to eat. The location is also very good, near the high street with a lovely countryside view. Claire’s a very lovely person and we loved cuddling with Peggy the cat. Definitely would recommend!

    The Six Bells is in a great spot for exploring (e.g. Lavenham) by car. The roads are not wide, but easily, and safely, manageable. There is ample, free parking at the pub. The staff are cheerful, welcoming and efficient. The accommodation (with a kitchen and small sitting room) is attractive and very clean. The pub is lovely, serving fairly priced meals of very good quality.
