Staff were really helpful and friendly, including calling a taxi for us to get to the wedding we were attending. In particular, I think her name was Diane, was working on the front desk as a stand-in and she was really friendly and couldn't do enough for you! Breakfast was great with plenty of options. Room was lovely.

We found this last minute stay on the road from Wales to Newcastle upon Tyne. Needed a peaceful place for the night and this was worth every penny. As for the included breakfast, this was even above any expectations- SO delicious and well and freshly cooked. Highly recommended place to stay for one night or even more if Cheshire needs to be explored more.

It is a pleasant riverside village on the River Alyn,...

It is a pleasant riverside village on the River Alyn, conveniently situated between Chester and Wrexham, and within easy access of other parts of North Wales. It is where I was brought up from the age of 6 and remains largely unspoilt by new development. As with all Welsh towns and villages, I am not a supporter of the blanket 20 mph speed limit, which I believe may deter some people from visiting.

We booked Rossett Hall for a birthday treat.

We booked Rossett Hall for a birthday treat. It was a mistake. There was a nice greeting but a distinct air of neglect as we entered reception. Our room was freezing – this was about 8pm on the coldest night of the year so far. The radiators were on but stone cold. It wasn’t possible to turn on the heated towel rail. Back to Reception where after the (declined) offer of a tiny oil-filled heater, we were allocated a new room and told the ‘radiators were warm’. Which was true – slightly warm. The toiletries were in bottles fixed to the wall. The loo roll was so thin we thought it was single ply. Cheap biscuits on the tea tray. Filth inside the ceiling light fitting. It all felt barely 2 star. We went to the bar – but could only find two closed ones. This on a Friday night. Baffled, we returned to Reception and told to follow the signs for Oscar’s. Eventually, we arrived in a large, overly bright space. So far it had taken us about 45 minutes just to get into a room and find the bar. Eventually someone appeared to serve us. I wanted a sauvignon blanc – a pretty standard offering. They were ‘out’. By now we were tired, cold and regretting our choice of this so-called 4 star hotel. The room was still cold when we returned so it didn’t matter that it was impossible to open the window. The bed was comfortable – hurrah. Breakfast was a huge disappointment. Fruit that had seen better days, dusty grapes, no berries. Poor quality bread. The cheapest possible marmalade. Burnt black pudding, barely cooked tomatoes and mushrooms. Tasteless bacon, a decent poached egg the only redeeming feature. We packed and left far earlier than intended – we just wanted to get out of there. This hotel is not worth the money. It seems to be a failing business where every corner that can be cut is cut

Loved our room, big comfortable bed fridge and garden view.

Loved our room, big comfortable bed fridge and garden view. Downside bath shower and shower curtain. I think walk in shower is a safer better option. Especially if the guests are older and not steady. Would be good if there was a choice.

It's location is great and parking is very good. Booking in was very easy having a very warm welcome. Ground floor with a view of the garden. Lovely. The meal in the evening was well worth the decision. A very comfortable room with all the facilities and a perfect breakfast. All the staff are so friendly which made the whole occasion relaxing and enjoyable. Looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely old building, well kept, good parking and lovely gardens. very easy to book in . Room maid was very pleasent and thorough. bedroom was spacious, with TV and free wifi .tea, coffee hot chocolate and biscuits provided. Bed was comfortable but not a kingsize. I would stay there again as it had a nice feel to it. I only visited one Public house in Rossett which was very nice good food and reasonable price. There were several Public houses in Rossett that did meals had good reviews from people we met.

The location and grounds of the hotel are lovely. The staff as usual are really friendly and give a warm welcome. There are no vehicle chargers, but when asked staff said they are looking to install them. Rooms are a bit tired and could do with updating, but they are comfortable and very clean.

Check-in easy, spacious room and en-suite. Comfortable bed. Pleasant grounds. Hotel was very busy and the breakfast staff seemed to be struggling to keep the self service breakfast items topped up. Having said that the breakfast was excellent, all fresh produce, and there was no problem if you wanted, say scrambled eggs rather than the fried that were already there. Cannot comment on dinner as we had other plans.
