A pleasant, comfortable hotel with an excellent location. The staff and management are super friendly and on the guest side. They solved my problem caused by Air France and did not charge anything extra. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The best English breakfast ever. The location was amazing! It was my 40th birthday, and we were long due for a break, so our choice of going to Sunderland came out perfect with our stay at Roker Hotel. Roker beach was less than a 10 minutes walk, and we had a myriad of options for places to eat and drink. The hotel also had a lovely bar and restaurant, but we only ate once and got drinks twice there. There is no particular reason for this, as we were just a bit up and about during our stay. The staff were very nice and pleasant, always willing help. We'd definitely stay at Roker Hotel again...

I stayed for a week in August and really enjoyed it. The room was lovely, cosy and very clean. I loved all the little extra touches. The hosts were very kind and helpful . The cleaning lady did an excellent job. The location was perfect. I'm planning my next trip here.

    As a suburb of Sunderland, Ryhope provides a useful base for exploring the wider area, but would likely not be a destination in itself, unless friends or family lived there. It is, however, easily accessible and within easy reach of beaches and places of interest (e.g. Beamish and Durham or the Northumberland coast). We ate out at two different excellent restaurants in Sunderland, which were only a few minutes drive away.
