Didn’t visit St Austell but hotel is close to Lost Gardens of Heligan, Looe, Polperro and about 45 minutes from Trebah Gardens in Falmouth. All are well worth a visit. Hotel is also a very short walk from Britannia Inn where we had a lovely meal.Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0
The town itself seemed tired and dreary.

The best places to visit were Mevagissey and Charlestown, they both had an old world charm. St Austell town centre is dated and needs some TLC , but...
St Austell town centre is dated and needs some TLC , but around the ring round is everything you need to make your stay great. Big Asda, lots of resteraunts, and the usual chains. There is some amazing beaches, countryside, walks in and around St Austell. And , it's a brilliant base for all things Cornwall, very well connected. Carlyon and Petewan beaches are fantastic. St Austell is a run down and neglected town hard to navigate and not much to see. Charlestown is a delightful harbor with a good choice of restaurants and bars a bit of a shame that the harbor is being worked on but it has to be done. My friends and I only came to St Austell for the Eden...
My friends and I only came to St Austell for the Eden Sessions which is held at the Eden Project where top artists play live each year this year we saw Biffy clyro and the venue is an amazing backdrop with the biomes lite up at night the one place any music fan should visit . Rooms were great, comfortable bed but have to be careful if you’re tall as lots of sloping ceilings around the hotel. Used the swimming pool which was very nice, great breakfast with lots of choice.
