Joseph greeted us on reception and was wonderful; kind and professional and managed the details for us. The little drink treats in the room were such a lovely surprise. Breakfast was good - staff were not communicative but did their jobs. We will definitely come again!!

Parts of the town aren’t great - rather run down, lots of empty shops - but the area round the market and St Thomas church is very good. We also found a superb breakfast at The Orangery. Walking by the river is pleasant too. And of course the cathedral is wonderful, although so is St Thomas church with its superb Doom painting and modern font and altar.

Lovely city, centre is clean and well kept.

Lovely city, centre is clean and well kept. Plenty of restaurants and gift shops with the cathedral a must see. Other attractions like Stonehenge are not far away too (about 20 mins drive). We parked in Waitrose as you have up to three hours parking, cathedral is about 20 mins walk from here but parking was £10 all day there

    Lovely city to walk around.

Lovely city to walk around. Lots of individual, independent shops to visit. Steve at tourist information was very helpful. Cathedral is beautiful. Recommend attending choral evensong. Don't bother with Stonehenge. It's totally blocked from site nowadays so you can't even do a drive by. Visit Avebury instead, about 40 minutes away. At least 4x the size, totally open and free to visit and you can touch each and every stone. Great storyteller there, does free presentations at former church. We drank mead from a carved horn as part of his presentation.

Property was in a perfect rural setting close to Salisbury with all it’s facilities but far enough out for you to enjoy the peace and tranquillity. Our only down-side was the heavy traffic, but the sat nav redirected us through the most beautiful villages on an alternative route.

The biggest attraction is obviously the Cathedral, which is a beautiful building. I have visited it several times before but this time I went on a guided tour, which I would definitely recommend. It contains an original copy of the Magna Carta, and you can read a transcription of this. Salisbury is an ancient city and of course is full of interesting old buildings, and a lot of extremely good pubs. There is a huge amount of history, and it is worth reading up on the city before visiting. Shopping is also good with a modern precinct, including an M&S with food store.

Well positioned and central with a bar that’s also a sitting area and breakfast room. Our en-suite bedroom was comfortable and had 2 chairs and importantly in recent heat, delightful air conditioning. Free parking was available at the back of the hotel. This worked out well for us, staying midweek but not many spaces. There is also on road parking at the front of the hotel with payment during the day. Breakfast was good with a nice range of buffet options and eggs cooked to order. The staff were helpful and charming which enhanced the stay.

The rooms are just amazing, huge and comfy beds, enough space to move and fully equipped with facilities. The bathroom looked modern, clean and confortable. Special mention to the shower head, which was big, clean and with great water pressure -not common at all in most of the hotels!- The hotel has a pub downstairs which is very nice, drinks are good and cheap and there is a huge choice.
