Shalford is about 35 minutes walk to Guildford past some of the most beautiful English countryside you could wish for - think old parish churches, winding river and a few really good British gastropubs. It has a Boots and a village shop as well as a cafe and sandwich shop in the center and if you don't want to walk to Guildford, there's a train right there that takes 4 minutes or you can catch a local bus. It's a drive from even more amazing scenery and once in Guildford you can go and see the castle and lots more! Definitely a great place to stay with or without a car.
