Loved The Star pub in Talybont.

Loved The Star pub in Talybont. I was on my own and had just arrived in Talybont, just in time to order dinner. I had homemade bean chilli which I highly recommend. Staff were friendly and accommodating and once I'd finished my meal, Kelly, the landlady, invited me over to join her at her table where I enjoyed the rest of my evening with her and a local. I also had dinner at The Royal Oak in Pencelli with my fellow walkers (14 of us). Preordered mains (with Non), everything arrived as ordered and cooked to perfection, fab desserts, good atmosphere and great service. Fabulous accommodation at Ty Sycamore. Although I didn't use it, I understand the bus service (No 43) is reliable Monday to Friday but not at weekends. I drove everywhere and although I stayed in Talybont on my own, I was here with my walking club. I understand all taxis come from Brecon town so start at £15. Small shop/post office and bus stop 1-2 minutes' walk from The Star pub.

Really like the rustic atmosphere of the house and the farm.

Really like the rustic atmosphere of the house and the farm. We felt welcome and comfortable. Loved making the fire every day to heat the house as we visited in the winter. Lovely bath. The stone staircase is incredible. Lots of friendly animals. Nice places to visit and eat in the neighboring villages

Beautiful location, fabulous views and quiet.

Beautiful location, fabulous views and quiet. Not far from Brecon town, lovely Sunday lunch locally. Had some issues with internet no working but hosts quickly resolved this. Hosts, were available to help with fixing electric when it was knocked off in the kitchen, our fault. Great if you love animals, peacocks, chickens, cats and dogs wandering around farm but not a nuisance. Surrounded by fields which we were free to roam in. All round a fantastic weekend.
