Very clean, well kept and modern. The bed was very comfortable and they was plenty of storage etc. it even had a good hairdryer iron and ironing board. The staff were really friendly and very helpful.

The team at Dolphin are second to no other pub/acommodation, they are simply fabulous. I stayed at the Dolphin for a week, as I was travelling from Hong Kong, and was sad to leave them all at the end of the week. The pub atmosphere was, as one would hope, was like a comforting home. There was great chat at the bar and the food was off the chart good, and superb value for money. I can not recommend the Dolphin highly enough.

Everything was super! The rooms were enormous, the staff helped store our luggage all day & the breakfast buffet was great. Very comfy beds & all newly renovated/built. Top location if you’re driving to Newbury or Basingstoke & Kingsclere by foot.

    We came here in connection with my wife's work.

    We came here in connection with my wife's work. There is no other reason to visit. Its a boring, unmemorable little town, made somewhat pleasant by its leafy character and the proximity of the countryside. There is more to do in neighbouring Newbury, but it too is flawed by poor town planning, busy roads and a poor quality cultural hub. The only place I really liked was Shaw House, which is used mainly as a conference centre, so that people interested in its history have to make sure its open before visiting.

    Thatcham is not exactly a 'destination'!

    Thatcham is not exactly a 'destination'! It is a working town with good rail links and very handy for the A4. My friend & I were fishing the River Kennet very close by which made this town convenient. There are a number of pubs in town but unfortunately Covid issues meant none seemed to be serving evening meals. There were several restaurants & plenty of fast food joints.

    The hotel was clean, and comfortable. Free parking outside the front door is a huge bonus. The food was excellent. The TV in my room had no remote control. I informed reception and they were unable to replace it despite extensive searches and multiple attempts with remotes from other rooms, so they moved me to another room which was a slight upgrade. The bed was comfortable. The location was excellent for my stay for the Thatcham research centre.

    The property was modern, clean, comfortable and in a great location for our needs. we have stopped here twice for work, but I wouldn’t hesitate to take my family to these apartments. Thatcham is a really nice place and the people that live locally are very nice. we will definitely stay here again and the host is professional in arranging everything for the stay to be enjoyed. Thanks for the relaxed stay.

    The room and house were spotless, lovely location and very quiet. Views were pretty amazing. The location is excellent for Thatcham and Newbury, you don't feel like you are so close to civilisation as it was so quiet. Very nice couple who own the house.
