Beautifully decorated room and facilities - really exceeded expectations. Every detail was well considered including the bed linen, towels, lotion, soap, tea and coffee making facilities. Within easy walking distance of the city center and beautiful cathedral as well. 100% recommended.

I booked the George Inn at 7pm on a Sunday evening of a BH weekend after getting rained off from my camping. The place was still busy with the Sunday lunch crowd and clearly the host couple had been flat out busy all day. Nevertheless they were both absolutely charming and quickly showed me a lovely comfortable room and got me a meal and a pint followed by some excellent home made Victoria sponge. Before long I was co-opted onto one of the pub quizz teams and had a great evening in front of the toasty open fire with my new friends. Lovely people who run a great little Inn.

We had a fantastic stay at The Cross - the property itself is full of history and character plus it’s in a beautiful location in a cute village, only two minutes walk from a great pub, The George, and a stone’s throw from Wells. Terry and the rest of the team could not do enough to make our stay wonderful - helpful, friendly, fun and informative. The room was well appointed, comfortable and scrupulously clean. The breakfast was incredible - super fresh, piping hot cooked options, fruit, cereals, etc

What a charming house. We were warmly greeted upon arrival. It's quietly tucked away and the grounds are lovely. So peaceful. We enjoyed our beautiful view from the Master room. Gorgeous canopy bed. Spotless room and modern bathroom. The house is filled with antiques but is tastefully furnished and very inviting. The breakfast was delicious and the service was wonderful. Peaceful and perfect.

This is a lovely studio flat in the heart of Wells. Nicely appointed with a full kitchen. There were some food items left by previous guests and some lovely treats left by the management. It's a perfect place to prepare food and eat in the flat without having to go to restaurants. The flat is ground floor, easy access from the street, secure and quiet. The Hive is located on the High Street with shops and restaurants nearby and a nice old-fashioned pub a few steps away. I would recommend this property to anyone wishing to make a long or short stay in Wells.

Everything. Wow what an experience it was! These pods are the perfect little getaway! Our pod (Morgan Sweet) was clean, tidy and has pretty much everything you need. The staff were so nice & kind, I can’t thank them enough!! & Matt made my day by letting me and my partner see the pigs & piglets. Location is good, only a 5-10 minute drive to wells town with a few local pubs in walking distance from the pods too. Hot tubs were a struggle to start as never used before but as soon as we got use to it, it was a blast. Plenty of wood and resources and Room in the hottub. Open fire/bbq was easy to use, we loved it. View from our decking was beautiful - all the animals walking freely, it was so peaceful. I would 100% recommend and me and my partner will definitely be back again. Thanks Matt & Co for our experience!

Wells is a lovely place to visit and steeped in history.

Wells is a lovely place to visit and steeped in history. The Cathedral is the focal point but I thought the admission fee was too high compared to other cathedrals. The city has ambassadors during the summer to assist tourists. There are lots of nice food outlets and shops. Wells is close to other attractions in Somerset; Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, Glastonbury etc.

The city of Wells is a lovely place to visit.

The city of Wells is a lovely place to visit. Three days and we still could have spent more time there. There is a huge market 2 times a week, Thurs. and Sat., with crafts, foods, flowers and vegetables. The Cathedral, Bishops palace and palace gardens are wonderful places to visit. Do take the tour. We heard evensong one evening which was lovely. St Cuthbert's church is a lovely place too and they have regular concerts there as well. The Cheddar Gorge and Cheese place was a major tourist trap. Skip it because you can get great chess at the market! The Crown was a great pub for both food and cider, which is famous in the area. And if you are a standing stone freak there are standing stones out near Westbury-sub-Mendip. AND the people are so friendly!! Wells is a great place to go and we plan to go back!

I had always wanted to see the Cathedral at Wells and while this is undoubtably a building of great beauty our visit was a real disappointment. A large part was sectioned off because of a service in progress at a time which was too late for Eucharist and too early for Evensong which the non clerical staff seemed just as confused about! In addition a large part off the knave was being prepared for a cider festival. So all in all a disappointment; I do understand that these are places of worship but when your are being charged £15 per person entrance fee you really should be able rely on timings as they are also operating as a commercial enterprise. Shout out for the lady in in the library who was helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant.

Vibrant place with lots going on, the market is amazing and full of local produce, you must try the sausage roll stall! The cathedral was also very lovely, there was a cheese and cider festival on with live music, considering it was a cathedral they have embraced the needs of the community and fundraising has taken on a fresh and new approach, well done.
