Amed was lovely, found some great eating places that were really reasonable. Gusto, Galangal, Warranga Amed with live music and fabulous hosts, Sunset view restaurant )the lower key more traditional one) the other Sunset view was too upmarket and commercialised. We loved riding around on the scooters and felt it was quiet enough to feel safe. Amed is one of my favourite places I have visited in Bali! I love that the reefs are right in front of the beach, you don’t need to take a boat or guide, just jump straight in to see so many fish and turtles! I went diving and I wish I stayed longer to explore more. The people are super kind and helpful. It is a little hard to get around though since there are no Grabs. If you can learn, it’s best to rent a bike. But other than that, take your time to explore Amed!Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0

Amed is nice but if you don’t have a scooter or your own transport, expect to pay high prices for transport compared to other parts of Bali. Also people there seem a bit sad and not as friendly and happy as other parts of Bali. The beach is nice and the place is very quiet and not overcrowded, which is great but if you are looking for that lovely Balinese culture and hospitality, you might struggle to find it here.Guest review bySaharAustralia - 6.0

I went to Amed to learn Free Diving. Its 3 hour from Bali airport by car. a nice small village. Many good restaurants and Massage Places and Yoga Places. No Shopping just enjoy the beach. Perfect place for relax, snorkeling and sunsets with view of Mount Agung. Good start point for visiting Pura Lempuyang, rice fields, Tirta Gangga, Taman Ujang and Virgin Beach. Excellent for backpackers and similar. A few more upmarket places available but nothing 4* or major brands. Beach is black sand and pebbles, not everyones cup of tea. The beach doubles as a boat park with all spaces taken. Restaurants are basic to average but reasonably tasty and great if you are on a budget. I believe the snorkling and diving opportunities are well catered for and at affordable prices but didn't partake myself. A lot of French tourists, so cool if you "parler Francais ! " The views of Mt Agung from the beach are spectacular as are the sunsets and sunrises, obviously dependent on the weather and cloud cover.Guest review byBMAsia

Nothing will ever beat the End of the day shower under the stars. The restaurant is right on the beach and the Food was delicious. Staff was very friendly and kind. I loved that the fishing boats were next to the hotel beach, it was nice to see the local fisherman’s daily life and hear their fishing stories. Traditional Balinese features are all around the beautiful colours of the gardens. The pool overlooks the ocean and the views are amazing. Inside the ocean view villa (Angel 3) the beauty of old Bali is a true rejuvenating experience, with a very comfortable canopy netted bed.
